N. Woodstock, NH — The PASS Modifieds got the Sunday afternoon racing action started with their thrilling 50-lap feature. Chanler Harrison took off with the lead while Billy Penfold, point leader Spencer Morse and Zach Bowie battled for the fifth position. With the six-car gaggle for fifth, Shawn Knight began to try the outside in fourth to march up through the nose-to-tail top four before the late-race spin for Morse in turn one. Chanler Harrison marched away with the restart lead to take the PASS Modified win over Shawn Knight and Zach Bowie at the line.
PJ Stergios brought the New England Supermodified Series to green for their lightning-fast 50-lap main event. After a short four-way battle, Jeffrey Battle took charge on lap five and began to run away from Stergios, Dan Bowes and Matt Swanson. By the halfway point, Battle held a half-track lead over Stergios with Swanson’s brakes locking up to bring out the caution on lap 44. The final restart was no different with Jeffrey Battle taking the dominant win over PJ Stergios and Dan Bowes.
The reverse car numbers of Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif and Derek Griffith led the PASS Super Late Models to green for their Midseason Invasion 150. The majority of the early goings remained Tardif, Joey Doiron and Griffith running nose-to-tail on the bottom groove. Jimmy Renfrew Jr. took over the lead on lap 99 just before absolute chaos errupted. The spinning Cole Robie in turn one called out the yellow flag as Renfrew piled into a slowed Kyle Goodbout, ruining his right front suspension and his chance to claim the win.
Griffith and Tardif faced off once more at the restart but by the time they returned to the line, Tardif went into the spin cycle in turn four and relegated himself to last place with the yellow flag waving once again. Though slowed by another pair of cautions, Derek Griffith persevered
Ryan Doucette launched with the lead in the Modified Racing Series White Mountain 75 with Brian Robie and Chris Pasteryak in tow. With the first 25 laps down, Pasteryak had motored his way into second as Brett Meservey followed in his tracks just one second behind Doucette. The caution flag waved for the first time on lap 27 for the spinning Jeremy Zullo on the frontstretch while Joey Jarvis and Jon Ricci piled into the backstretch wall simultaneously. Meservey used the restart to snag the lead under Doucette with Pasteryak getting back to second place eight laps later.
In preparation for next Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Thunder in the Mountains 200, Anthony Nocella brought the Xtreme Motorsports #17 to play and found himself in second with fifteen laps remaining. Time ran out for the trial run with Brett Meservey taking the checkered flag over Anthony Nocella and Chris Pasteryak rounding out the top-three.
White Mountain Motorsports Park returns to racing action next Saturday, July 18 with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Thunder in the Mountains 200!
