Mini Late Models to Crown 2026 Track Champion on Ammonoosuc Asphalt Night at WMMP

N. Woodstock, NH — After a two-week break, Thunder is ready to return to the Mountains this Saturday, September 5 with the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models taking center stage. The four-cylinder class will crown their 2026 champion this Saturday evening alongside continued track championship action from the 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models, The Farmyard Store Flying Tigers, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis, NELCAR Tour Legends and Bandoleros plus the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division!

It’s nearly a runaway for two-time and defending Mini Late Model champion Nick Miller with all eyes squared on the Rookie of the Year battle between Donnie Baumgardner and his son-in-law Tyler Thompson. The two have battled hard all summer long with Thompson getting one final chance to match Baumgardner with a win in his freshman season.

The two are far from rookies in the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis with Baumgardner leading Jacob Roy in the championship standings. Both Donnie and Tyler Thompson are joined by Strictly Mini rookie Lucas Sidney with three wins each so far this summer while Roy has racked up two wins. The division has also featured a revolving door of Thunder Road Street Stock invaders each week to test the mettle of the White Mountain defenders.

While the majority of the 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models took advantage of the downtime for some R&R, Landyn O’Donnell and rookies Luke Shannon and Jason Woodard went on the road. O’Donnell ran the Vermont Governor’s Cup at Thunder Road while Shannon and Woodard, with son Tanner behind the wheel, took on Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday. Back to the track championship grind in September, Quinny Welch has a white-knuckle hold on a four-point lead over Kasey Beattie for the King of the Mountain honors.

Luke Peters has been on fire this summer in The Farmyard Store Flying Tigers and stands tall atop the championship standings with seven wins this season. Cameron Ouellette is still in the hunt for his first White Mountain win while being joined by Kyle Willis, Owen Cheney and Shane Sicard as they all look to make up ground on Peters.

The Kids Division and both Legends and Bandoleros of the NELCAR Tour also return to reopen White Mountain after the two-week break. The seven-division showdown is sure to make for an explosive start to the exciting month of September at White Mountain Motorsports Park!

White Mountain is back in action this Saturday, September 5 for the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Model championship event. The 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models, Farmyard Store Flying Tigers, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis, Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division and the NELCAR Legends and Bandoleros join the show during the Labor Day weekend holiday!

Grandstands open at 2:45pm on Saturday with Adult General Admission set at $15, Kids 6-12 are $5 and Children ages five and under are free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.
