Forecasted Rain Pushes NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour White Mountain Date to July 18

Four Track Championship Divisions Still A Go on Saturday, June 20

N. Woodstock, NH — Due to an uncertain forecast including multiple rain cells throughout the day Saturday, and a lack of availability for a rain-date on Sunday, White Mountain Motorsports Park Officials have postponed the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event originally scheduled for June 20 to Saturday, July 18.

While the planned events for the four track championship divisions are still a go for this Saturday, the unpredictable weather coupled with multiple NASCAR teams and officials planning the trek from Florida and the Carolinas pushed Officials to wait for friendlier skies above.

“This isn’t a decision either ourselves as the track or NASCAR took lightly but one we both feel is best for everyone involved,” said WMMP managing partner Cris Michaud. “We’ve already lost one Saturday and we’re pushing to try and make sure our weekly teams don’t lose another.”

Saturday’s updated schedule for June 20 will now begin at 2:30pm with the Pit Gate Opening for White Mountain teams and practice beginning and front gate opening at 3:30pm. Racing action for the 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models, The Farmyard Store Flying Tigers, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis and White Mountain Crown Vics will begin at 6:00pm.

Updated Saturday pricing has Adult General Admission set at $15, Kids 6-12 are $5 and children five and under are free. The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will now return to White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 18 for the Thunder in the Mountains 200! An updated schedule of events for NASCAR’s one and only date in Northern New Hampshire will be released in the coming weeks.
