North Woodstock, New Hampshire - A cool late summer night provided race fans with door to door racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH. It was championship night for the Late Models, Super Streets, Strictly Stocks, and the Strictly Minis, the Pro All Star Series was in town for their 150 lap feature.
When all the dust had settled, Glenn Martel, Adam Delucca, Eric Brown and Rod Knudson all received the top honors in the Peabody and Smith Reality Winner's Circle. The 2006 White Mountain Motorsports Park Championship honors went to DJ Shaw, Mike Clark, Jason Welch and Dan Curren.
The first feature to roll on the high banks of White Mountain Motorsports Park was the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini division running a 20-lap feature. Willard Hedden and Scott Richardson won their qualifiers. The #19 of Rod Knudson took the lead on lap 8 and went on to win the feature but came up short to win the Chanpionship. Second place went to the 2006 Champion Dan Curren and third was Opie Thayer.
The Gilmore Jeep/Ford/Dodge Super Street were next up to run their 30 lap feature. After a couple of yellow flags Adam DeLucca took home another win for the season and went home third in points for the year. Jonathen Ledger was second and Craig Roy third. Winners of the qualifiers were Tim Churchill and Todd Goodness. The 2006 Championship went to Mike Clark of Littleton, NH and Tim Casey settled for second by 45 point.
Beacon Resort Strictly Stock Rookie Jason Welch was one happy driver winning the 2006 Championship. Welch went into the night with a 43 point lead over Gary Griswold who finished second for the season and Rookie driver Jeremy Davis went home with third for the season. Winning the 25 lap feature was Eric Brown from Lunnenburg Vt. Brown took the lead on lap sixth and never looked back. Rounding off the top five was Patrick Burk, Ben Lynch, Blaine Dorman and Dave Driscoll.
Going into the race night six NAPA Late Model drives could have been the 2006 NAPA Late Model Champion. Russ Clark from Littleton, NH lead the point lead all year but came up short due to a broken part in the rear of the car. After the 50 lap feature was over DJ Shaw was the new Champ by only 3 points over Stacy Cahoon and 5 points over Kendell Legendre. Glenn Martel went home with the win for the night and right on his bumper was Oren Remick and DJ Shaw.
This Sataurday will be the last event at WMMP for the 2006 Race Season. The event will be a Open Show. Gate will open at 8, practice will start at 10:30 to 12:30 and race will start at 1pm Sharp.
