North Woodstock, New Hampshire - Once again, race fans flocked to White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. The near capacity crowd enjoyed another night of wild and wooly action and great racing. Thompson, Lantagne, Smithers, Call, Spencer, and Blake all received top honors in the Peabody and Smith Reality Winner’s Circle.
The HK Powersports Kids Trucks Division kicked off the night with two features. The Feature B race saw Devin Spencer of West Ossipee, New Hampshire leading the field to the finish line for the victory. Doug Willey of Shelburne, New Hampshire came in second and Steve Legendre in third. Cody Leblanc and Erin Vien finished in fourth and fifth.
Feature A of the HK Powersports Kids Trucks ended with Cody Blake of Barre, Vermont, driving the 99 machine to victory. Blake was chased to the line by Justin Marsan of Methuen, Massachusetts, Benjamin Lynch of Derry, New Hampshire, Joshua Cantara, and Aaron Ricker.
The Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets poured onto the ¼ mile oval for the next feature of the evening. It was quite the nail biter from start to finish. With a couple of cautions and some slick driving, Bernie Lantagne of McIndoe Falls, Vermont, got to the top spot and held off the rest of the field for the win. Pittsfield, New Hampshire’s Tim Casey came in second and Craig Roy of North Haverhill, New Hampshire joined Lantagne and Casey in victory lane. Doug Laleme and Matthew LeBlanc finished in fourth and fifth.
The Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets put on an incredible show that ended with a leadership change at the tech shed. Gary Griswold II started the race on the pole and looked strong. He led for a good number of laps. About halfway though the race, rookie driver Cody Bodwell of Farmington, New Hampshire, got to the front of the pack. After each caution, Bodwell pulled away from the field making nice running room. Bodwell crossed the finish line first with Tom Smithers of Gilmanton, New Hampshire in second and Gary Griswold II of Bath, New Hampshire in third. At the tech shed, Cody Bodwell was DQ’ed due to a Air Filter infraction. Tom Smithers was awarded the First Place Victory. Gary Griswold II moves up to second with Pete Gilcris, Jeremy Davis, and Jeff Marshall finishing in third, fourth, and fifth.
The 35-lap feature for the Napa Late Models was no different when it comes to great racing. Another night with Bradford, Vermont’s Richie Bean shooting for a triple crown. Once again, Bean was strong in the qualifying heat, again during the semi-feature, and during the feature, finishing in third. Napa Late Model Points Leader, Stacy Cahoon of Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, worked his way up though the field to get to the second spot with Rick Thompson Jr. of Newport, Vermont making a late race charge for the checkers. Thompson got the victory with Joey Pole in fourth and Tim Churchill in fifth.
The final feature of the evening was a 35-lap feature for the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini’s. From start to finish, race fans were on the edge of their seats. Towards the end of the race, lap traffic became a real problem with the leaders swapping positions going around the lapped cars. When all dust cleared, the checkers and yellow flew on lap 35. Jerrad Ledger of Groveton, New Hampshire led the pack across the finish line. Now with a caution, WMMP racing officials have to go back a lap. On lap 34, Rubin Call of Concord, Vermont was in the lead. Call was awarded the victory with Ledger getting second and Dan Curren of Danbury, New Hampshire driving into third place. Opie Thayer came in fourth and Strictly Mini Points Leader, Jason Welch finished in fifth.
