Racing action was going pretty smooth tonight, with qualifiers running like clockwork going right into feature events. Then a slight glance over the left shoulder and you could tell it was not going to last. Rain moved in from the Notch and that pretty much ruined the track condition. With the high humidity in the air, even after the rain stopped, the track was lost. Some racing action did take place, so here is what happened.
NAPA Late Models held three qualifiers, with Brockton Davis, Bernie Lantagne and Dwayne Lamphere coming in third. Second place finishes went to Tyler Alati, Tom Smithers and Mike Jurkowski. Winning their qualifiers were David Labreque, Travis Fadden and Will Avery. Semi-feature action saw Tyler Alati come in third, David LaBreque second and Travis Fadden the win. This puts Travis Fadden in a position to possibly win a triple crown, however, that race will be held at a later date.
The Avery Sweeping Tiger Sportsman division had another four cars show up for racing action. Finishing the qualifier in third place was new driver John Lambert, second place was Mike Moore and the win went to Brian Gosselin. Then we were able to move into our feature, which saw Gerald Griswold take third, Mike Moore second and Brian Gosselin the win.
The BEACON MOTEL Strictly Streets held two qualifiers. Coming in third were Jody Sicard and a new driver, Adam Lovejoy. Taking Second place was a new driver Dan Bean and Tom Keith. Winning their qualifiers were Alex Kelly and Connor McDougal. It was during the feature race that the rain came in and brought action to a halt. Up to that point Connor McDougal was leading but all eyes were on two other drivers who had been involved a caution event at lap 3. Alex Kelly and Tom Keith had to restart at the rear of the pack and both of these drivers were absolutely flying around other cars with each passing lap. If it had not been for the rain, some true racing action would have occurred towards the end of the feature.
The WOODSVILLE GUARANTY SAVINGS BANK Strictly Stock Minis were able to run their qualifier. Nick Pilotte placed third, Opie Thayer finished second and Kyle Willis pulled off a win. There was a caution with three laps left and Willis was able to hold off these other two veterans for a qualifing win.
HK POWERSPORTS Kids Truck division was also able to run both their qualifier and feature tonight. Placing third in the qualifier was Michael Lloyd, second went to Nick Willis and the win went to Jordon Fornwalt. The feature race saw Chandler Potter take third, second went to Nick Willis and the feature win went to Jordon Fornwalt.
All race results are subject to the cars passing tech and meeting the posted rules for racing at WMMP. Some of the cars racing tonight were allowed to race even though the drivers knew they would not necessarily be scored. My hats off to all the fans who stuck around during the rain delay waiting for racing to continue. Congratulations to those drivers who waved the checkered tonight.

Age groups are 5 and under, 6 & 7 year olds, 8 & 9 year olds then 10 years of age and older. Bring your bike and helmet and be ready by 5:00 for the bike race, which is set to begin at 5:15.
