For the second time in this young 2011 season Mother Nature flexed her muscles in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and washed out racing at the N. Woodstock oval. Racing has been cancelled for 06/11/2011.
We will be back in action next week on 06/18/2011. Although racing is cancelled, this might be a good thing for the NAPA Late Model Sportsmen, as it gives them an extra week to prepare their machines for the invasion next week of the American Canadien Tour Late Models. However, it does rob them of what could be valuable seat time for next weeks event.
As stated, next week will be one of the biggest events on the WMMP 2011 schedule. The ACT Championship Late Models will roll into town for a 150 lap showdown against the NAPA Late Model Sportsmen of WMMP. This is a qualifying race for the New Hampshire Invitaional at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 24th. With the home field advantage the NAPA Late Models are still going to have their hands full, going up against some of the best late model drivers in the northeast. This is not a show you are going to want to miss. Late model drivers will draw for their starting positions in the qualifiers and qualify using the unique plus/minus system of the ACT, which always provides for a great show and heated qualifying. It is also a points counting event for the WMMP regulars. As well the other four divisions of the WMMP will be there in support of the ACT sanctioned event. The Avery's Sweeping Tiger Sportsmen, the Beacon Resort Strictly Stocks, the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Mini Stock division as well as the Lil' Ceasars Kids Truck division will all run a regular card of racing.
For this special event, the pit gate will open at noon with practice hitting the track at 1230. The front gate will be open to the public at 2pm, with racing starting promptly at 5pm. Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for children.
Don't forget about the new program for the kids we have started just this year. Each week the announcer will be pulling a child's ticket. That child and parents will then be invited into the tower to watch a feature event. When that event is over the child will be brought down onto the track and will hand out the trophies to the three winning drivers. As a "Thank-You" to the child for doing it, they will be taking home a trophy of their own! This is just one more way White Mountain Motorsports Park would like to thank the families that come out in support of our racing program every week. We look forward to seeing you soon!! We are very easy to find in the heart of the White Mountains, in Woodstock, NH. We are two miles south of N. Woodstock village on route 3 and three miles north of exit 30 off Interstate 93. We are a family friendly facility with no alcohol being allowed on the grounds at any time, and the grandstands split evenly into smoking and non-smoking sections. Again, we look forward to seeing you, if not next week, then sometime over the 2011 season.
