North Woodstock, New Hampshire – It was a great night of racing with some clouds, some sun, warm temps, and even hotter racing this last Saturday Night at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. The night was full of door handle to door handle racing with Quinny Welch, Rich Paradis, Jeff Marshall, Jason Welch, Cody Blake, and Joshua Cantara all coming home with the checkers.
The Napa Late Models hit the high banks for a 35-lap feature. Donnie Drew of South Ryegate, Vermont was on fire. He took first place in the first Qualifying race for the Napa Late Models. During the Semi-Feature, it was Donnie Drew once again. Feature time was no different, as Donnie Drew ands Richie Bean of Bradford, Vermont were neck and neck for most of the race. Quinny Welch of Dalton, New Hampshire started out the race toward the back of the pack. As the laps continued to tick away, Welch worked his way to the top position taking it from Donnie Drew with only a couple of laps to go. At the end of the race it was Quinny Welch taking the victory lap. Donnie Drew came in second, Richie Bean in third, last week’s winner Derek Ming in fourth and Pete Potvin III in fifth.
The Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets put on an incredible show from start to finish as they competed for a 50-lap feature. From start to finish it was anyone’s race. Rich Paradis of Littleton, New Hampshire fought off an entire field of drivers hungry for victory. Arnold Stygles had his hands full getting past some pretty tough competitors to reach the second position. When all the dust was clear it was Kenny Marier of Littleton, New Hampshire driving to third. Tim Casey was another one of the hard chargers making his way into the top three along with Bernie Langtagne. When all was said and done Casey got a hold of fourth and Langtagne took fifth.
It was a 20-lap feature for the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets in which everyone wanted a piece of victory lane. Jeff Marshall had to fight off some hard chargers to get to the front and take the victory. Jody Sicard of Barton, Vermont and Tom Keith of Pike, New Hampshire both put up a good fight and finished in second and third. Shane Sicard came in fourth and Jamie Longley in fifth.
The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini’s was 20-laps of on the edge of your seat racing. Jason Welch of Weare, New Hampshire took first place in his Qualifying Race and then repeated his performance in the feature. Welch was unstoppable from start to finish. Dan Curren of Danbury, New Hampshire spent the entire race watching the back bumper of Welch finishing in second place. Last week’s winner Jonathan Ledger started toward the back of the pack and fought his way toward the top. As the race came to an end Ledger managed to get third place, Jerrad Ledger came in fourth and Josh Santy in fifth.
The HK Powersports Kids Trucks division had two features, the first one was 10-laps, and the second feature was 15-laps. The first feature saw Cody Blake driving across the finish line first. Devin Spencer followed Blake into second place and Cody LeBlanc in third. Fourth and fifth went to Doug Willey and Erin Vien.
The second feature for the HK Powersports Kids Trucks division had Joshua Cantara getting to the finish line first in the 15-lap feature. Aaron Ricker, who came in first last week, finished this week in second. Justin Marsen came in third, Benjamin Lynch in fourth and Mac McDuffie in fifth.
Racing action returns to WMMP next Saturday, as Country Pools, Spas and Billiards present a 100-lap A.C.T. race. Also on the card will be all five White Mountain Motorsports Park Divisions. Please note the early start time of 5pm for this event. Pit gates open at noon, Grandstands open at 1pm, and practice begins at 2pm. WMMP is located on Route 3 in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.
