After starting mid-pack and overcoming a hard fought battle, Oren Remick came out on top to score his first NAPA LMS victory of the season. With just six points counting events left it was no holes barred racing at the front. After a caution for a minor spin on lap 17, the restart saw 4-wide action coming out of the second turn, and then again 3 wide action off turn four and down the frontstretch, on lap 34, neither of which brought out another caution flag. Remick worked over eventual second place finisher Ben Lynch looking for a hole for more than ten laps before hooking it high in turn one and powering his way around to the point. Third place finisher Tyler Cahoon was coming on strong to take that second spot, but the laps wound down and the checkers flew before he could gain his momentum.
In the HK Powersports Kids Truck division Ryan Wheeler was getting cagey coming from mid-pack and was on a steady march to the front. A late race caution with just several laps to go put Wheeler within striking distance and he did just that in commanding fashion to take the win followed by a hard charging Chandler Potter with Amanda Wheeler coming in third in her usual foot-to-the-floor fashion.
The Shuttle Connection Super Sportsmen division saw Brian Gosselin take what can only be described as a commanding victory over Chris Pelkey, a former runner in the HKPowersports truck division. The green flag flew and Gosselin was soon in another time zone ahead of his competition. In only his second visit back in a Super Sportsmen Pelkey did a fine job holding onto his second place spot ahead of Gerald "Thumper" Griswold who came home in third to protect his points lead in his division.
The Beacon Resort Strictly Stocks saw a shuffle in the finish after a look in the tech line. The win was ultimately awarded to Alex Kelly, second given to Steve Parker II and Flyin Al Hauver coming home in third place.
The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Mini Stocks saw Eric Boucher jump out to an early and substantial lead right from the start. Large enough of a lead that points leader Opie Thayer had all he could do to catch Boucher before the checkers fell, much less have any time to make a charge for the win. Shawn Sinclair came home in third place after a hard-fought battle to get there.
Next Week: Due to the ACT Tiger Tour running an event at another venue we will not be running our Super Sportsmen division, although they will be back in action on Aug. 28. In their place however, we will be having another visit from the Northeast Mini Stock Touring Division. We look forward to seeing you then......
