North Woodstock, New Hampshire - Three times is truly the charm when it comes to racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park. After being rained out two weeks in a row, it was time to kick off the 2006 Season at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. The pits and grandstand were full of eager people ready for the first races of the 2006 season. This week’s winner included Quinny Welch, Mike Clark, Jeremy Davis, Rubin Call, and Cody Blake.
The Napa Late Models took to the high banks of White Mountain Motorsports Park for a 50-lap feature with some fantastic racing. Quinny Welch of Lancaster, New Hampshire started off the 2006 Season showing he meant business. Welch won his qualifier, took second in the semi behind Randy Potter of Groveton, New Hamphire and went on for the win in the feature. On lap 42 of the 50-lap feature there was a caution which pinned Welch and Potter door handle to door handle on the re-start. Both raced side by side neither one of them giving up till the checkered flag dropped and Quinny Welch crossed the painted strip first. Randy Potter took second place, Plymouth, New Hampshire's Todd Aldrich took third. Glenn Martel finished in fourth with Kendell Legendre rounding out the top five.
It was a 30-lap feature on Opening Night for the Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets. Mike Clark of Littleton, New Hampshire went two for two on the evening, winning his qualifier and the feature. Clark was chased to the line by North Haverhill, New Hampshire's Craig Roy for second place. Arnie Stylges of Bradford, Vermont took third. Dave Langlais and Metthew LeBlanc finished in fourth and fifth.
Jeremy Davis of Tamworth, New Hampshire and Steve Parker II of Lyndonville, Vermont put on a tremendous show in the 25-lap feature for the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets. Going Door handle to door handle, lap after lap, it was anyone's race till the finish. When the dust cleared it was Jeremy Davis grabbing the checkered flag. Steve Parker II, who took last year off, came back and shook off the rust for a second place finish. Gary Griswold II of Bath, New Hampshire was also in the mix finishing third. Cody Bodwell finished fourth with Jason Welch right behind him for fifth.
Rubin Call of Concord, Vermont started off the 2006 Season were he left off last season. At the end of last season Call was finishing consistently in the top 5 each week. He started off the night with a third place finish in his qualifying heat and then went on to hold off Opie Thayer of Concord, New Hampshire and Jerred Ledger of Groveton, New Hampshire for the win. Thayer finshed second and Ledger close behind for third place. Dan Curren and Rod Knudson finished fourth and fifth.
