Despite the drains on both ends of the infield at the N. Woodstock speedplant, the plug has once again been pulled on racing in the White Mountains. This gives Mother Nature three big wins this year and they have not been popular ones by any account. Rain is forecast for most of the day and into the evening in Northern New Hampshire, which has forced the hand of the Avery's to call it all off once again.
However, next week, 7/2/2011, is looking to be a big one as the NAPA Late Model Division will be staring down the face of a 100 lap showdown with $1000 up for grabs for the win. The usual weekly principal players will be there, along with a few invaders looking for the big payout are expected to be on hand. This will be another event you are going to want to mark your calendar for. "The Thunder In The Mountains" is sure to be alot louder and a bit more intense for this event.
In addition, it will be the Annual Kids Pit Tour event, which is always a big hit. The kids and their parents will all be allowed onto the racetrack to meet their favorite drivers and see and feel the stock cars up close. This is always a very popular event for the kids to see the cars and drivers up close, then have the opportunity to see them rubbing fenders and swapping paint just an hour later.
The schedule for the day goes as follows. The gates will open at 1pm, practice starts at 3, the pit tour starts at 4, with racing going off promptly at 5pm.
Don't forget about the new program for the kids we have started just this year. Each week the announcer will be pulling a child's ticket. That child and parents will then be invited into the tower to watch a feature event. When that event is over the child will be brought down onto the track and will hand out the trophies to the three winning drivers. As a "Thank-You" to the child for doing it, they will be taking home a trophy of their own! This is just one more way White Mountain Motorsports Park would like to thank the families that come out in support of our racing program every week. We look forward to seeing you soon!!
We are very easy to find in the heart of the White Mountains, in Woodstock, NH. We are two miles south of N. Woodstock village on route 3 and three miles north of exit 30 off Interstate 93. We are a family friendly facility with no alcohol being allowed on the grounds at any time, and the grandstands split evenly into smoking and non-smoking sections. Again, we look forward to seeing you, if not next week, then sometime over the 2011 season.
