NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH - Its was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for auto racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH. A solid field of racers assembled in the pits and a large crowd enjoyed a regular card of auto racing along with the ACT Dodge Tour.
The day started off with a make-up race for the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis. Groveton, NH's Jason Kenison took home the win ahead of Ray Eames, Sean Akers, Opie Thayer and Dan Curren rounded off the top five.
Berlin NH's Rookie driver Mathew Leblanc was one of the happies youngsters yesterday after winning his first feature race in the Gilmour Jeep/Dodge Super Street division. Leblanc placed second but after winner Daryl Smith was found out of stock in post race technical inspections Leblanc got the win. Rounding off the top five were Bernie Langtage, Rich Paradis, Mike Martel and Oren Remick. Qulifying heats were won by Mathew Lablanc and Rich Paradis.
West Burke,VT's driver Steven Parker II picked up his second win of the season in the Beacon Resort Strictly Streets. Parker who started in the 9th place had some work ahead of him in the 25 laps feature, that went green to checked. Following him to victory lane was two new faces with big smiles, second was Mike Barton and third went to George Ryan. Rounding off the top five were Keri Driscoll and Jamie Longley. Heat winners were George Ryan and Gary Griswold.
In the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis second feature of the night saw Concord NH's driver Opie Thayer take home his third win of the season. Thayer had his hand full holding off second place finisher Jason Kenniston and close behind him was Karen Bixby, Kyle Tatro and Michael Richards. Heat wins went to Les Washburn and Jason Fallman.
Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, Vt took the lead on lap 16 and went on to win the ACT New England Dodge Dealers 100. Rounding off the top ten was Jean-Paul Cyr, Jamie Fisher, Randy Potter, Pete Fecteau, AJ Begin, Quinten Welch, Dave Whitcomb, David Avery, and Brent Dragon.
All five divisions will be back in action this Saturday night a WMMP. Along with a regular night of racing the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis will run a 35 laps feature.
