North Woodstock, New Hampshire – With last week being rained out, this week a grandstand full of race fans were treated to some awesome auto racing on a late August Saturday night at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. Joe Tetreault, Quinny Welch, Doug Laleme, Gary Griswold II, Blaine Dorman, Jared Martel, and Erin Vien all received top honors in the Peabody and Smith Reality Winner’s Circle.
The ACT Tiger Sportsman Series was in town for a 100-lap feature. Enfield, New Hampshire’s Joe Tetreault’s showed up for the night hungry for a victory. Tetreault started on the pole and was able to hold of the entire field of competitors for his first win in this division. This is Tetreault’s first year racing in the Tiger Sportsman Series and has come really close to the top with a second place finish on August 6th. After 47 minutes and 34 seconds Joe Tetreault was chased to the winner’s circle by Joe Steffen from Essex Jct, Vermont and Nick Sweet of Barrie, Vermont. Robin Wood from Plattsburgh, New York drove his way into fourth and Brendan Moodie Jr. from North Wolcott, Vermont came in fifth.
The Napa Late Models put on an incredible show from start to finish. Tyler Cahoon started off the 35-lap feature by quickly getting to the top spot and leading the pack for most of the race. In the last couple of laps Quinny Welch worked the outside groove and took the lead position. As the checkered flag droped, Quinny Welch of Dalton, New Hampshire got the win. Tyler Cahoon of St. Johnsbury, Vermont came in second with Todd Aldrich of North Haverhill, New Hampshire finishing in third. Fulton Mountain came in fourth and Pet Potvin III came in fifth.
Littleton, New Hampshire’s Doug Laleme has been fighting for a victory all season and this past Saturday Night, Laleme beat the entire field to the painted strip. The Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets competed in a 30-lap feature with all kinds of twists and turns. Doug Laleme fought off Howard Switser of West Burke, Vermont and Tim Casey of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, who came in second and third. Points leader Brockton Davis came in fourth and Craig Roy finished in fifth.
It was door handle to door handle racing in the 25-lap feature for the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets. Jody Sicard of Barton, Vermont started on the pole and lead for the first half of the race. Gary Griswold II of Bath, New Hampshire got past Sicard to reach the top spot. Strictly Street Points Leader, Jeff Marshall of Groveton, New Hampshire came from the back of the pack to get to the second spot and finished behind Griswold. Sicard came in third, Jason Rogers in fourth, and Jeremy Davis in fifth.
Race Fans this past Saturday Night saw a dog fight in the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini’s. Steve Welch started on the pole for the 20-lap feature. Welch was quickly passed by Blaine Dorman of Londonderry, New Hampshire who has had a couple of close finishes but not the top spot yet this season. Well, that was until this past Saturday Night. Once he got to the lead position he held on for the win. It was a close one as Jerrad Ledger of Groveton, New Hampshire was right on his rear bumper. Danbury, New Hampshire’s Dan Curren also came into the mix fighting for the lead position. When all the dust was cleared it was Dorman with the win, Ledger for second and Curren for third. Opie Thayer finished in fourth and points leader Jason Welch in fifth.
The HK Powersports Kids Trucks rolled on to the track for a pair of features. In Feature B it was Erin Vien of Wentworth, New Hampshire with her first career victory. Vien was chased by Doug Willey of Shelburne, New Hampshire for second and Cody LeBlanc of Berlin, New Hampshire for third.
Feature A for the HK Powersports Kids Trucks had Jared Martel of Belmont, New Hampshire, who has been away for a couple of weeks, returning to the track and getting the victory. Justin Marsan of Methuen, Massachusetts came in second place; Cody Blake finished in third place. Joshua Cantara finished in fourth and Aaron Ricker in fifth.
Racing resumes this Saturday night at 6pm as the New England Dodge Dealers presents the True Value Modified Racing Series running a 100 green flag lap race plus the Late Models, Super Streets, Strictly Stocks, and Strictly Mini’s all taking on the high banks of White Mountain Motorsports Park. The Kid’s Trucks will have the night off. White Mountain Motorsports Park is located on Route 3, in the heart of the White Mountains in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.
