It was a damp, night at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, but it stayed dry just long enough to get the show in. Five divisions ran all their qualifiers and features in near record time as the crowd was on their way home by 9pm. Mike Gosselin stunned the field, as he captured a career first win in the NAPA Late Models. Gosselin also won his heat and the bonus point, semi-feature. Other winners included Oren Remick, Todd Goodness, Brady Therrien and Jason Welch.
The NAPA Late Model race was once again a great battle that wasn't decided until the latter stages, except for race winner Mike Gosselin. Gosselin of Derby Line, Vermont had never won a main event prior to this evening. Tonight was his night as he dominated the event, and never looked back over his shoulder. As strong as he was, several other racers battled for top ten positions. When the checkers flew, Gosselin had secured his first career win and the coveted triple crown. Danville, Vt's, Kendall Legendre once again used the outside lane to score his second straight runner-up finish. Randy Potter rolled to his second top three finish in as many weeks as the Groveton speedster raced home third. Rounding out the top five were point leader, Fulton Mountain and Pete Fraser. Heat wins went to Gosselin, Fraser and Legendre. Gosselin grabbed the semi.
Warner's, "Floorin'" Oren Remick, nailed down win number four on the season in the Gilmour Jeep/Ford/Dodge Super Streets, as he raced past Whitefield's high flying rookie, Brock Davis, with five laps remaining. Third through fifth spots went to Laconia's, Adam Delucca, Ken Marier and Doug Laleme. Laleme and Howard Switser won their respective qualifiers.
East Concord, Vt's, Todd Goodness made it two in a row in the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets, as the current point leader took over the top spot on lap eleven and cruised home to victory. West Burke, Vt's, Steve Parker, had a career best second place finish, as did third place finisher, Jason Wyman of Woodsville. Toby Peters and Ray Hauver rounded out the top five. Hauver and Wyman scored heat victories.
Brady Therrien of Lyndonville, Vt., won his fifth feature win of the season in the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini's, as he nipped Dan Bigelow at the checkers. It was a three car race for the win, as you could have thrown a blanket over Therrien, Bigelow and Keri Driscoll as they raced to the checkers. Driscoll, from Lincoln, was awarded the second place spot as Bigelow failed post race inspection for a wheelbase infraction. Rookie, Sean Akers of North Woodstock raced home third, followed by Jonathan Ledger and Trevor Lacasse. Qualifiers went to Bigelow, Driscoll and Ledger.
Jason Welch made it two in a row in the Hobo Hills Adventure Golf Mini-Cup cars as he easily out-distanced Scott Viens and Bill Matatall. Kevin Bowman and Scott Haag raced home fourth and fifth.
