North Woodstock, New Hampshire - Once again, race fans poured into White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, and the near capacity crowd enjoyed another great night of action packed racing. Winners on the night included Glenn Martel, Arnold Stygles, Jeremy Davis, Jason Welch, Doug Willey and Jared Martel.
It was a special night for the Napa Late Models. The New England Dodge Dealers presented a 100-lap feature. Gilmanton, New Hampshire’s Glenn Martel was on fire as he captured the first triple crown at White Mountain Motorsports Park for the 2005 Season. Martel kicked off his night with a great run in the second qualifying heat for the Late Models. During the Semi-Feature Martel did it again with Mike Gosselin right on his tale. Come feature time, Martel was unstoppable. Through out the feature Glenn Martel raced side by side with Mike Gosselin of Derby, Vermont. When all the dust settled, it was Martel with the checkered flag and the triple crown for the evening. Mike Gosselin in second and Rick Thompson Jr. of Newport, Vermont in third. Fourth and fifth spots went to Joey Pole and Quinny Welch.
The Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets had a 30-lap feature. Arnold Stygles lead most of the race with multiple racers riding on the outside lane. At one time it was looking like Brockton Davis of Whitefield, New Hampshire might be getting the victory but it was Stygles who crossed the stripe first. Adam Delucca of Laconia, New Hampshire finished in second. Brockton Davis in third, Howard Switser in fourth, and Tim Casey in fifth.
Due to the rain out two weeks ago the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Streets competed in a 40-lap feature with double purse and double points. Jeremy Davis of Tamworth, New Hampshire put on a great show working his way though the field and gaining the top spot. As the laps ticked away, rookie driver Patrick Burt of Lunnenburg, Vermont, also showed some skills as he too worked his way though the field gaining on the leaders. On lap 40 it was Davis with the checkered flag, Burt in second, and Jamie Longley of Barton, Vermont in third. Fourth place went to Shane Sicard and fifth, Jeff Marshall.
The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini’s also competing in a 40-lap feature for double points and double purse. For most of the race it was Jonathan Ledger who drove up though the field, gained the top spot and leaded the field around the track for a good number of laps. Ledger was chased by Opie Thayer who was on his way for a second place finish. With only a few laps to go Ledger drove up into the pits, Opie Thayer spun into the infield and Jerrad Ledger got the top spot with Jason Welch right on his back bumper. Jason Welch of Weare, New Hampshire was able to pass Jarred Ledger to cross the line first. Bethlehem, New Hampshire’s Les Washburn came in third with Michael Richards Jr. in fourth and Sean Akers in fifth.
The HK Powersports Kids Trucks division had two features, the first one was 10-laps, and the second feature was 15-laps. The first feature saw Doug Willey driving across the finish line first. Cody LeBlanc followed Willey into second place and Erin Vien in third. Fourth and fifth went to Devin Spencer and Danny Lang.
The second feature for the HK Powersports Kids Trucks division had Jared Martel getting to the finish line first in the 15-lap feature. Justin Marsen finished in second. Mac McDuffie came in third, Jashua Cantara in fourth and Aaron Ricker in fifth.
Racing gets underway this Saturday Night with the Kids Bike Races. Kids are invited to bring their bikes and helmets for racing in different age divisions. The Kids Bike Races will be starting at 5:30pm. Also on the card a 70-lap race for the Napa Late Models with double points and double purse for those that were signed in two weeks ago during the rainout.
Gates open at 2pm, practice begins at 4pm and the first green flag waves at 6pm with all five divisions in action.
