NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH Ė Under picture perfect skies the Strictly Stocks and Kids Trucks wrapped up their seasons at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. All five divisions were in action with Shawn Swallow, Jeremy Davis, Brockton Davis, Opie Thayer, Mike Gosselin, and Gary Griswold II victorious.
The end of the 2004 season has started. On Saturday Night the Beacon Resort Strictly Streets had a 40-lap feature to end their season. The battle started in the qualifying heats as Jason Wyman of Woodsville, New Hampshire came in second place in the second qualifying heat. Wyman gained enough points to move from third to second in the pointís race. On to the feature were Gary Griswold II of Bath, New Hampshire was unstoppable. Jason Wyman also had an impressive run but just wasnít able to reel in the leader, Gary Griswold II. Griswold brought home the checkers to wrap up the 2004 season in the Strictly Stock Division. Jason Wyman came in second, Scott Vien of Wentworth, New Hampshire in third, Steve Parker II in fourth, and Tom Keith in fifth.
After the 40-lap feature it was time to crown the champions in the Beacon Motel and Resort Strictly Street Division. Toby Peters of Woodsville, New Hampshire is this years winner in the Strictly Street Division with 887 points. Jason Wyman drove home in second with 871 points, Tom Keith of Pike, New Hampshire came third, 7 points behind Wyman, with 864 points. Steve Parker II was fourth in points and Gary Griswold II in fifth. This years rookie of the year in the Strictly Street Division is Shane Sicard.
The Strictly Streets were not the only excitement of the evening. The Napa Late Models came to the park for a 35-lap feature. Mike Gosselin of Derby, Vermont hit the high banks with a new car and broke it in with great fashion as he led most of the race. Quinny Welch of Dalton, New Hampshire came up from a couple of positions back to race side by side with Gosselin. Welch gave Gosselin a good run for his money but at the end of the race; Mike Gosselin was victorious with Welch coming in a very close second. Brain Mason of Stark, New Hampshire finished in third. Stacy Cahoon and Garrison Grubisa finished fourth and fifth.
The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Miniís had a 20-lap feature on Saturday Night. Points Leader Opie Thayer of Concord, New Hampshire made it two in a row with a win in the qualifying heats and then again in the feature. This is Opie Thayerís fifth first place finish of the 2004 season. T. J. Ingerson of North Haverhill, New Hampshire came in a close second with Michael Richards Jr. of Concord, New Hampshire in third. Jason Kenison and Jason Welch chased down the leaders for fourth and fifth.
It was a great race for the Gilmour Jeep Ford Dodge Super Streets. Steve Patnaude raced hard for the top position and held on to it till the very end. On the last lap, in turn number four; Brockton Davis of Whitefield made a quick move to grab the checked flap at the line. Mike Martel of Loudon, New Hampshire joined the other two leaders in Victory Lane. Tim Casey was another hard charger who came in fourth and Adam Dulucca, who was in second for a good portion of the race, finished in fifth.
The Hobo Hills Adventure Golf Kids Trucks were also on the track for two features, this time for the last time of the 2004 season. In the first feature Shawn Swallow of Stark, New Hampshire finished in first. Bruce Melendy of Danville, Vermont, who was leading till the very end, came in second at the line. Dustin Jackson of Bethlehem, New Hampshire was also in victory lane with a third place finish. Mac McDuffie ended in fourth and Cody LeBlanc rounded the top five. In the second feature, it was all Jeremy Davis of Tamworth, New Hampshire. Davis brought the field home with a first place finish. Jared Martel of Belmont, New Hampshire came in second. Arron Ricker of Tamworth, New Hampshire finished in third and Joshua Cantara and Danny Lang finished in fourth and fifth.
Racing continues this Saturday night at 6PM with the Pro All-Star Series in town for a 150-lap feature. Itís also Championship Night as the Late Models, Super Streets, and Strictly Minis have their final points races of the 2004 Season. Gates open at 1pm and the first green flag flies at 6pm.
