The weather was picture perfect for the season opening day at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. The pit area was jam packed with race cars that race regular at WMMP along with the PASS Pro Stocks.The grandstands were full of racefans from all over to watch some of the best short track racing in New England.This weeks winners included Dean Webber, Craig Roy, Ben Lynch, Sean Akers, Kyle Willis and PASS Pro Stock winner Mike Rowe.
Dean Webber in the NAPA Late Model division was the car to beat in the 50 lap feature, he ended up taking home his first win this season at WMMP. Tyler Cahoon from Danville Vt. gave Webber a run for his money but ended up alittle short and settled for a second place and finishing third was Norm Anderws from Northfield Vt., forth place went to Quinney Welch and Todd Aldrich took home fifth.
Qualifying wins went to Tyler Cahoon, Quinney Welch and Dean Webber. Tyler Cahoon captured the Semi-feature win.
North Haverhill, New Hampshire's, Craig Roy scored a popular win in the Gilmour Jeep/Ford/Dodge Super Streets. Roy took the lead away from Jonathen Ledgar on lap fifteen and never looked back to take home his first win of the season. Tim Casey who was right on Roy's bumper had to settle for second.Tom Smithers, raced home to a solid third place finish ahead of Chandler Davis and Jason Welch. Heat win went to Pittsfield NH driver Tim Casey.
Ben Lynch of Derry , NH the youngest driver in the Beacon Resort Strictly Stock division held on to the lead for all twenty five laps. He took home his first win of the season. Lynch was able to hold off second place finisher Lyndonville, Vt. driver Steve Parker and Pike, NH driver third place finisher Thomas Keith. Eric Brown and Ray Eames rounded off the top five. Heat winner was Thomas Keith.
Sean Akers from North Woodstock, NH was able to hold on to the lead for a 20 lap feature in the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini's. Akers took home his first win of the season. Jefferson, NH driver Nick Pilotte settled for a second place and Rubin Call from Concord, Vt. went home third. Heat winner was Sean Akers.
Kyle Willis took home the checkered flag in the HK Powersports Kids Truck Division. Willis held off Gordon Day who finished second and after rolling over his truck on lap eleven Steven Legendre was able to finish third. Heat winner was Steven Legendre.
The racing action resumes this coming Saturday at WMMP. Pit gate opens at 1pm and practice starts at 3pm and the race 5 o'clock sharp. Front gate will open at 2pm and the cost is $10.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids under 12.
