With much anticipation and high expectations, drivers, crews, fans and car owners alike took to the frontstretch to view and judge the iron that will do battle on the highbanks in N. Woodstock. There were many new faces and cars on hand as the five divisions stretched from turn three all the way around to turn one. Likewise, new and beautiful paint schemes stretched from one end of the speedplant to the other.
All divisions were very tough for the judges as many drivers/owners outdid themselves with complicated paint schemes and murals adorning not only hoods, but rear decklids as well. In the NAPA late models Bernie Lantagne came in third with his #3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sponsored by P&L Loggers of Vermont. Second place went to the #17 Chevrolet Monte Carlo of Todd Aldrich Sponsored by Mountain Milk. First place went out to Jeremy Welch in the Butch and Nancy Welch owned #88 Chevrolet Impala SS sponsored by Welch's Hardware and Lumber and Knox Autobody.
In the Avery's Sweeping tiger sportsman division the top honors were split between three newcomers to WMMP. Winning the car show was a great way to start the year for these three gentlemen and we welcome them aboard in the sophomore year of the tiger sportsman division. Third place overall was given to Sean Akers in his very well crafted #90. Second place went out to Randy Gonyaw in his Monte Carlo SS #22. Top honors went to the Wendy Wimble owned, Wimble's Propane, American Cancer Society #98 piloted by Jeff Wimble.
Not to be outdone, the Beacon Resort strictly stocks rolled out some of the best looking cars of the day. Third place went to newcomer and rookie contender Lucas Wheeler in the Lakeside Auto, Bare Boned BBQ #21 Monte Carlo SS. Second place honors went to Gordon Day in the #47 Monte Carlo SS sponsored by Northeast Autobody. First place went out to another young rookie contender, Brandon Allbee in the Alvin Fadden owned, Fadden Automotive, Riverview Campground sponsored #16 Monte Carlo SS.
Lining the infield, the Woodsville Guarantee Savings Bank strictly mini stock division had a great showing of their own with the ladies mounting another invasion into the division in 2011. Third place went to Lisa Hodgdon, out of Danville, VT in her #0 Chevrolet Cavalier sponsored by Stateline Auto, Second p;ace went to rookie contender Travis Dickerson in his Volkswagon Rabbit #4 sponsored by NAPA C&S Auto Parts. The overall victory for the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank strictly mini stock division went to veteran driver Kyle Willis in his handsomely prepared #43 sponsored by North Country DECA and the Charbo Campground.
Just off the pavement on the frontstretch sat the very popular and very creatively adorned HK Powersports kids truck division. Logan Oliver, brought home third place honors with his Chevrolet S-10 pickup sponsored by the Pine Mountain View Farm #26. Second place went out to Brandon Croteau with his JC Trucking, Richard McAllister Concrete sponsored Chevrolet S-10 #4. The Mountain Milk, Woodsville Machine pickup of Ryan Olsen grabbed top honors with his Chevrolet S-10 #61 out of Woodsville, NH.
White Mountain Motorsports Park would like to send a tremendous "Thank-You" to Dave Eastman of Eastman Trophies and Awards in Groton, VT for supplying and awarding the trophied to all five divisions. For all your trophy and awards needs remember Dave Eastman of Eastman Trophies and Awards.
