With a chill in the air to remind us of what lies ahead of us, the racing was as hot as it has been all summer long at White Mountain Motorsports Park. With alot to be settled and just as much on the line, many points battles have yet to be settled, especially with next week being the final points race for the NAPA Late Model Sportsmen as they will not be running the final week of competition.

It was a huge relief to owners and competitors alike to see the gates thrown open on Saturday night at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The rains from the previous Sunday proved to be too much for the parking lot at WMMP as pretty much the whole thing washed into the body of water that lies behind the race track. With brute strength and a ton of man hours, track owner Donnie Avery went to work. It took all week right up until racetime, but the fix was made and the parking lot totally replaced by the time the gates were opened. That was a huge save considering how close WMMP came to being literally washed away.

After the loss of three events early in the season due to rain, Mother Nature seems to be making up for lost time at the White Mountain Motorsports Park in N. Woodstock, NH. Saturday night saw all but perfect conditions for racing as the temperature was in the mid 70's with a stiff breeze blowing up from the south. This made for great horsepower in addition to great grip where the rubber meets the racetrack. With only seven points counting events left for the NAPA Late Model Sportsmen their racing was spectacular and did nothing to overshadow the other four divisions who now have only eight points counting events left.

Despite the drains on both ends of the infield at the N. Woodstock speedplant, the plug has once again been pulled on racing in the White Mountains. This gives Mother Nature three big wins this year and they have not been popular ones by any account. Rain is forecast for most of the day and into the evening in Northern New Hampshire, which has forced the hand of the Avery's to call it all off once again.
