MINIS SPECIAL

The weeks are quickly dwindling as there are only two points events left for the 2016 season. Higher point guys starting in the rear and having to try and work their way to a podium finish has proved for some interesting racing. Mark your calenders for the next two Saturday nights as you don't want to miss out on some of the best racing. Racing starts at 6 PM.

The kids trucks saw one of their heavy hitters spin in the heat race as Robbie Gordon Douglas drove to hard into turn 3 causing him to go around. He was unable to make it back out for the heat but he came back strong for the feature event. Douglas worked himself through traffic but had his work cut out for him as he had to battle with Nate Walton and Matt Frey. Walton and Frey gave it all they could with a great run but Douglas was able to edge them out by a little bit. Walton grabbed 2nd and Frey came home with a solid 3rd place.

Kids Trucks Finish
1) 27 Robby Gordon Douglas
2) 88 Nate Walton
3) 41 Matt Frey
4) 51 Tyler Thompson
5) 02 Zachary Deaton
6) 26 Cassidy Wentworth

8) 88x Nathaniel Parkin

Dwarf cars returned after having last weekend off. A Late Model driver found himself a ride in a dwarf car this weekend as Jeff Marshall jumped behind the wheel of the #33 car. Several cautions flew over the field in the heat race along with a red flag, Tyler Jones hit the back stretch wall with force but luckily he was ok even though it ended his night. Tommy Smithers was able to get out front and never slowdown until he was the first to see the checkers fly. Norman Forest and Bobby Brown battled hard for a few laps but Forest was able to hold home for 2nd and Brown rounded out the top 3.

The Tigers have a new point leader, Matt Morrill who went into the evening just 6 points over Shane Sicard. Sicard had been the point leader for several weeks. They both started towards the rear and got held up in traffic for a long time. Matt Morrill was able to overcome driving the outside groove to grab another top spot. The driver who grabbed 2nd joined us a few weeks ago and let himself shine, a regular at Thunder Road, Cody Blake. Youngster Kaleb Rodgers stayed strong up front as he battled side by side with the veterans and finished 3rd for the evening.

The Late Models saw rookie Richie Brown capture a heat win and also the semi heat win. Brown went into the feature looking to make it a triple crown evening, unfortunately the handling went away on the #20 machine causing him to spin and loose an oil pan, leaving a groove of oil all around the track. After the clean up with speedy dry the drivers took several laps to work the speedy dry before we were able to go green. The inside groove didn't seem to work in the drivers favor after that. Current point leader Quinny Welch and Stacy Cahoon raced each other hard but clean. It's always great edge of your seat type of racing watching these 2 battle. Cahoon was able to hold off Welch for the win, while Welch finished with a close 2nd place and Johnathan Lemay had a great night, raced hard and brought home the 3rd place hardware. Rookie Allison Menard had a great night running up front for several laps. Unfortunately the oil played a factor on the racing grooves.

Late Models Finish
1) 83 Stacy Cahoon
2) 78 Quinny Welch
3) 4 Jonathan Lemay
5) 74 Jerry Lesage
6) 3 Bernie Lantagne
