THE MOST SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND IN
WMMP HISTORY COMES TO AN END
EDDIE MACDONALD SCORES $10,000 PAYDAY
The lights are out on the 25th Anniversary season at White Mountain Motorsports Park powered by the Autosaver Group in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. The carnival like atmosphere that surrounded the NAPA Blue & Gold 250 Weekend will last for a long time in the minds of race teams, race fans and the management of WMMP. All the great things that made the event memorable including hundreds of NAPA themed items being given away, a beer garden that allowed fans to watch the races from it, the smell of fresh BBQ on the smoker all weekend long, and a highly entertaining Monster Truck show only added to the great racing that took place all weekend.

The racing weekend was capped with super highs and huge disappointments for the final event of 2018. "The Outlaw" Eddie MacDonald carried the giant winner's check back to Rowley, Massachusetts with him in the NAPA Blue & Gold 250. MacDonald wasn't a real factor in the early going as he methodically worked his way to the front and pitted for tires around the lap 130 mark, as he and race leader Quinney Welch, skipped down pit road under caution. The regions big dogs were now all at the front as Welch, whom led from very early on in the race had high hopes of racing his way back into contention but that never happened. Scott Payea, Jimmy Hebert, Joey Pole all were battling hard at the front as well as Nick Sweet who was turning blistering laps on worn out tires. Sweet pitted and now the battle began with Payea, and Hebert. They battled hard over the next 75 laps, while all the time MacDonald methodically was working his way back to the front, and finally the lead, and finally the checkered flag. Hebert raced his way past Payea for second, Joey Pole was fourth and completing the top ten were Jason Corliss, Nick Sweet, Jonathan Bouvrette, a very disappointed Quinney Welch, Scott Dragon and Mathieu Kingsbury. Thirty-three of the finest Late Models in the Northeast attempted to qualify for the main event, as drivers representing, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Quebec battled hard for the thirty starting spots. Qualifying wins went to Joey Pole, Stephen Donahue and Bryan Mason. Consi checkers flew for Stacy Cahoon and Mike Kenison, while Jesse Switser won the B feature.

The Wells River Chevrolet Tigers concluded their two day, two 75 lap segment races and Justin Eldridge led the way to victory lane and a $1,000 payday as he captured both segments. On Sunday Colin Cornell gave Eldridge all he could handle but it wasn't enough and he settled for second ahead of Jason Woodard, Shane Sicard and Matt Potter. The overall top five for the two day event was Eldridge, Cornell, Woodard, Sicard and Potter.

Twenty-seven Legend Cars lined up for their 30 lap main event and Noah Korner held off a determined Casey Call for the win. A couple of early cautions slowed the event but once the field sorted out they put on a whale of a show. Following the winning pair were Brandon Martinez, Austin MacDonald, and Kevin Girard. Call and Noah Korner won the pair of qualifiers.

The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini's saw Nate Walton scramble for the hard fought victory over Brandon Gray, Jamie Heath, Brett Jackson and John Knight. Gray and Walton won their respective qualifiers.

This ends the 2018, 25th Anniversary season at WMMP. Information on our championship banquet will be forthcoming. For more information visit our website at www.whitemtnmotorsports.com, or call the Track at 603-745-6727.
