Foley Oil and Propane Late Model 100
LM Spring Board 100
FRI, JULY 5th & SAT. JULY 6TH

Sweet Sweeps Holiday
Doubleheader at WMMP

N. Woodstock, NH - Barre, VT's Nick Sweet made his Independence Day weekend twice as nice at N. Woodstock's White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6. The former American-Canadian Tour Champion swept both 100-lap events for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models to make his season debut at the high banks in fine style.

Sweet started 12th in the Spring Board 100 on Friday night to open the doubleheader and expertly worked his way through the field. In fact, he needed just 16 laps to find his way to the front, getting early leader Mike Bailey of S. Barre, VT for the lead. Sweet was never challenged from there and began wearing out the field as the final 97 laps of the event went caution-free.

The action was hot behind Sweet as Graniteville, VT's Stephen Donahue and Groveton, NH's Quinny Welch put on a spirited battle for the second spot. The duo worked their way up to second and third by lap 31, then went at it for the rest of the event, swapped the spot multiple times in the final circuits. But Sweet was long gone by then as he sliced through traffic with ease to win by nearly four seconds.

Doanue ended up nipping point leader Welch for second by just 0.049 seconds. Whitfield, NH's Jesse Switser and Bailey completed the top-five. Gilman, VT's Jeff Marshall was the final car on the lead lap in sixth. Cody LeBlanc, Oren Remick, Jerry Lesage, and Peyton Lanphear finished seventh through 10th.

In the Foley Oil & Propane 100 on Saturday, Sweet again rolled of the starting grid in 12th. However, his march to the front was much tougher this time around. In fact, Marshall looked like the man to beat for much of the event. The early-season winner grabbed the lead from polesitter Scott Corey on lap 15 and easily held on through a trio of solo spins that brought out cautions on laps 20, 33, and 42.

However, the final 58 laps went clean and green, and the long run again became Sweet's blessing. He moved into the second spot on lap 38 just before the final caution, then stalked Marshall for nearly 40 laps after the green lights came on. As the field approached 20 to go, Sweet finally made his move, swinging around Marshall to take the lead on lap 81 and pulling away down the stretch for the win.

Marshall ended up a valiant second. Donahue finished third to join Sweet on the podium both nights. Welch, Switser, Remick, Bailey, LeBlanc, Stacy Cahoon, and Lesage completed the top-10.

The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers had four large paydays up for grabs across Friday and Saturday - and they adopted a "Share the Wealth" policy with a different driver taking each score. Waterbury Center, VT's Jason Woodard got the ball rolling on Friday night by winning the 75-lap make-up feature for round two of the Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series. Whitefield's Christian Laflamme started on the pole and dominated much of the event, easily holding off Barton, VT's Shane Sicard after cautions on laps 4 and 28.

The third and final caution on lap 32 saw Woodard alongside Laflamme with the leader choosing the outside groove for the restart. The duo went at it for the next 30 trips around the speedway, with Laflamme using the slightly faster high line to hold Woodard off. With 13 laps to go, the two made slight contact off turn two, and Woodard took advantage to dart to the point. The multi-time Thunder Road Flying Tiger Champion was gone from there and took his first win at WMMP.

Laflamme finished second with Hardwick, VT's Jaden Perry completing the podium in third. Sicard, Kaleb Rodgers, Cooper Bouchard, Matthew Potter, Michael Potter, Aaron Maynard, and Colin Cornell completed the top-10.

The Flying Tigers then revved up for the first round of their "444 Holiday Special". Laflamme got his revenge in the Friday nightcap, taking the lead from polesitter Jody Sicard on lap nine of the 44-lap main event. He then ran away to win by a straightaway in the caution-free event.

Perry came out on top of a long battle with Shane Sicard for second. Jody Sicard took fourth. Bouchard, Thunder Road point leader Stephen Martin, Woodard, Cornell, Rogers, and Nathaniel Parkin also earned top-10 finishes.

The second 44-lapper for the Tigers on Saturday saw the third winner in two nights with Marshfield, VT's Matthew Potter taking the victory. Potter started fourth in the event and took the lead from his uncle Michael on lap 11. However, Perry soon followed him into second and began putting the pressure on in another caution-free race.

Laflamme eventually made his way from the back as well after problems in his heat race, moving into third on lap 36. The trio went tooth-and-nail over the final laps, taking the checkered flag under a blanket. When the dust settled, Potter edged Perry by 0.121 seconds for the thrilling win.

Michael Potter finished fourth, followed by Woodard, Shane Sicard, Rogers, Jody Sicard, Brad Bushey, and Nathaniel Parkin taking fifth through 10th. Perry became the fourth big winner of the weekend by earning a cash bonus for scoring the most total points in the 444 Special.

The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Banks Strictly Stock Minis also doubled up for Independence Day. In the Friday event, Bethlem's Dustin Jackson captured his second win of the season. Jackson started seventh on the grid and didn't need long to get to the front, taking the lead from Barton, VT's Adam Sicard just five laps into the 25-lap feature. Jackson flew away to win by more than four seconds as the race went flag-to-flag.

Sicard managed to best Littleton's Ryan Ware in a close fight for second. Tyler Thompson, polesitter Rusty Drew III, Darren Newland, Scott Senecal, Gavin McGinnis, Brett Jackson, and Kesey Beattie rounded out the top-10.

On Saturday, redemption was sweet for Adam Sicard as he picked up his third win of the season. Sicard started fourth in the second 25-lap feature of the weekend and swiped the top spot from Drew on lap four. The caution flew one lap later for Richard Stockwell's spin, but Sicard easily held the lead on the restart.

The event went green from there until Thompson and Les Washburn tangled on the final lap. By rule, the drivers that had taken the white flag raced back to the line, and Sicard comfortably won that race for the victory.

Dustin Jackson finished second, reversing the result from Saturday. Ware finished third to extend his remarkable podium streak to seven straight races. Newland, Drew, Brett Jackson, Senecal, Jillian Baumgardner, Jason Fallman, and Thompson completed the top-10.

The Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks ran features on both Friday and Saturday. Groveton, NH's Luke Shannon got the win on Friday night, going wire-to-wire in the 15-lap feature and avoiding an accident that brought out a red flag on lap-11. Christopher Pierce, Thomas Smithers Vi, Luke Peters, and Dominic Warren chased Shannon to the line.

Saturday's 15-lap main event saw Smithers become the second two-time Kids Truck winner of the season. Smithers started on the outside pole and immediately took the lead from Damion Sicard to dominate the caution-free event. The winner was followed by Pierce, Shannon, and Sicard.

The GoMotorsportsShop.com NELCAR Legends Tour also joined the festivities on Saturday night for their second visit to WMMP. Multi-time Seekonk Speedway winner Josh Parsons added a WMMP victory to his résumé by taking the win in the 25-lap feature. Parsons started third and inherited the lead when polesitter Colby Meserve spun to bring on the caution on lap four. He then held on through two more cautions and a late charge from Shaun Buffington to take the win by just 0.126 seconds.

Buffington finished second with Chris Burgess third. Jack Walker, Devin Deshaies, Thomas Euedson, Mason Levesque, Nick Caluert, Tyler Barry, and Trevor Krause rounded out the top-10.

White Mountain Motorsports Park hits the halfway mark on its 2019 season this Saturday, July 13 at 6:30pm with the Country Campers Midseason Championships. The Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini's, and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks will all have added-distance features with double points for the Late Models, Tigers, and Mini's. The Late Models also have their 50-lap make-up feature from June 29. Admission is $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

Potential Big Tiger Payday up for
Grabs at Weekend Doubleheader
N. Woodstock, NH - A big holiday weekend for the Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers at N. Woodstock's White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) is now even bigger. The Independence Day Weekend Doubleheader this Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 now has three Flying Tiger features on the card with a potential payday of more than $1,800 for some of the division's top stars.

The Tigers were already racing for extra cash this weekend as part of the 444 Holiday Special with its twin 44-lap features. Now, the 75-lap second round of the Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series has been added to the start of the Friday program after last weekend's rain.

Those who were in attendance on Saturday now have four chances to make a big score. The Triple Crown feature pays $500 to win while each Holiday Special feature pays $444 to win. An additional $444 bonus has been posted for whomever earns the most points (heats and features combined) for the two Holiday Special events. If a driver has a clean sweep, or even comes close to one, they'll be taking home a sizable check this weekend.

And there are many drivers capable of doing just that. Barton, VT's Shane Sicard is the clear favorite to run the table. The defending champion won the first four features of the season, including the Triple Crown opener, and finished second in the fifth event. Sicard rolls off third on the Triple Crown make-up grid after last Saturday's qualifying.

However, Sicard will have some serious challengers. Glover, VT's Kaleb Rogers is the one driver to beat Sicard in a main event so far this season and has threatened to do so on multiple other occasions. Bradford, VT's Nathaniel Parkin and Whitefield's Christian Laflamme have both been fast this year as well. Laflamme will roll off on the pole for the Triple Crown make-up, giving him the early leg up.

Several invaders who came for the Triple Crown event could challenge for the big weekend prizes as well. Waterbury Center, VT's Jason Woodard was runner-up in the Triple Crown opener and is a two-time Flying Tiger champion at Barre, VT's Thunder Road. Hardwick, VT's Jaden Perry already had multiple top-5s in a limited WMMP schedule as does Morrisville, VT's Dwayne Lanphear. Craftsbury, VT's Stephen Martin is still adjusting to the New Hampshire high banks but is leading the Thunder Road point standings as a rookie.

The two big nights of racing for the Flying Tigers are just one part of an action-packed Independence Day weekend at WMMP. The Foley Oil & Propane Late Models have twin 100's with added purse for each event. They'll run the belated Spring Board 100 on Friday and the Foley Oil & Propane 100 on Saturday. The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini's and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks have a full card of racing each night. Saturday, the four weekly divisions will be joined by the GoMotorsportsShop.com NELCAR Legends Tour and a dazzling holiday fireworks show.

Post time is 6:30pm for both Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The front gates open at 4:15pm both nights as well. Admission for the Friday portion of the Independence Day Weekend Doubleheader is $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids). Saturday's event is $15 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $30 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

Tiger “444” Special Added to Independence Day Doubleheader

N. Woodstock, NH - The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers will be getting on the holiday spirit as part of the upcoming Independence Day Weekend Doubleheader at N. Woodstock's White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP). Track officials have announced the Flying Tiger "444" Holiday Special for Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 with extra laps and extra cash for the region's top stock car racing support class.

The Flying Tigers how have twin 44-lap features on tap for the doubleheader. The first feature is on the July 5 Spring Board Memorial Day event card that was rescheduled due to rain while the second is part of the July 6 Foley Oil & Propane Fireworks Spectacular.

Continuing with the holiday theme, both features will pay $444 to the winner. Furthermore, an additional $444 "winner-take-all" bonus will be awarded to the driver who accumulates the most championship points during the doubleheader. Both heat and feature points will be included in the standings for this bonus. If a driver wins both features and scores the most points along the way, they will take home more than $1,300 in total awards.

The Tiger 444 Special is just one part of a huge holiday celebration at the N. Woodstock facility. Friday, July 5 also includes the Spring Board 100 for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis, and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks. All four divisions return on Saturday, July 6 for a night that includes the Foley Oil & Propane Late Model 100, the Tiger Special finale, the Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour, and a dazzling fireworks display.

Both teams and fans are invited to camp at the track for the entire holiday weekend and continue the fun even after the final checkered flag has fallen. Additional activities are still being discussed to make the doubleheader weekend even bigger. Those who really need a racing fix can make it a tripleheader weekend by attending the Aubuchon Hardware Holiday Spectacular at Barre, VT's Thunder Road on Thursday, July 4.

SpriSpring Board 100 Rescheduled
for Independence Day Weekend
Doubleheader
N. Woodstock, NH - White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) officials announced today that the Spring Board 100 has been rescheduled for Friday, July 5 at 6:30 pm. The event was originally scheduled for Memorial Day weekend before being postponed due to rain.

The make-up date creates an Independence Day weekend doubleheader for race teams and fans in the White Mountains. On Friday, the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis, and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks will each have a full card of racing that includes the 100-lap event for the Late Models.

They will all then turn around and race again the following night of Saturday, July 6 at 6:30 pm. On Saturday, the weekly stars will also be joined by the NELCAR Amsoil Legends Tour and the track's annual Independence Day fireworks display.

As part of the doubleheader, the Late Models will run twin 100-lap features, with the Spring Board 100 on Friday joining the Foley & Oil Propane 100 on Saturday. WMMP management is looking at a possible special event for the Flying Tigers as well for the doubleheader weekend. Additional activities and promotions are being discussed and will be announced over the coming weeks.

"Once it was clear the rain last weekend wasn't going anywhere, we started thinking about when we could make up the event for our teams, fans, and sponsors," WMMP managing partner Cris Michaud said. "While it's a shame the Memorial Day weekend got rained out, it presented a unique opportunity to make the Independence Day weekend even bigger. We're going to make it a great two nights of racing for everyone who comes to compete or watch."
