Fun! Exciting! Edge of your seat! Action packed! Are just a few ways to describe the racing at WMMP Saturday night. It was definitely Thunder in the Mountains from the very first heat race to the last 2 lap shoot out of the Late Model feature.

The New England Antique Racers joined us for some fun and excitement. It is always a treat to see these old/antique cars on our 1/4 mile. They always put on a great show.

As I have mentioned previously, as the point battles continue it stacks the field with the higher point cars starting in the rear of the field. The racing has been phenomenal, getting better and better as the weeks pass.

Wow!!!! That's the only word to describe the 50 lap Napa Late Model feature. This had to have been the most intense race of the year thus far. The fans on their feet, cheering on their favorite drivers as positions swapped back and forth multiple times. We had a gentlemen join us again this weekend. He raced at WMMP years ago, and will join us again for the remainder of the season. He put on a show as he raced from the rear of the field. These drivers put on one heck of a show. But it all came down to a caution flag on lap 48 of 50. The 2 lap shoot out saw most of the grandstand spectators on their feet. It took a while to figure out scoring and a top 3 finish but once the dust settled we saw Quinny Welch #78 come home with the first place trophy. #83 Stacy Cahoon added another trophy to his collection as he finished 2nd and rounding out the podium was the #49 of Matt Anderson.

Several Caution flags waved over the field of the Wells River Chevy Tiger division. They are definitely holding up to their name "TIGERS" as they kept our infield crew very busy keeping the track clean and debris free. When the bumping, spinning, and side by side racing was over, the first across the line was the #94 of Randy Dockham. Current point leader Shane Sicard in car #4 held on for a 2nd place finish. Tim Churchill #66 rounded out the podium with a 3rd place finish.

The Dad's 4 by Tool & Supply Kids Truck Division has been just as interesting to was as the higher divisions. These youngsters have been putting on a great show. If you didn't know these truck drivers were kids you would think you were watching seasoned drivers. The first red flag of the season flew as youngster Nathaniel Parkin in truck #88x and Robby Gordon Douglas #27 were racing hard for a top spot. Nathaniel Parkin ended up drivers door into the front stretch wall coming out of turn 4. We are happy to say Nathaniel was ok, hopefully his truck will be fixed and he will return next week. When all was said and done, the checkered flag wash shown to the #41 of Matt Frey. " The Green Machine" Nate Walton #88 grabbed the 2nd. And rounding out the field was the #15 of Chris Pierce.

Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini's saw lots of 3 wide racing. We had a substitute driver for the #10 of Christian Laflamme. The substitute driver definitely no stranger to the racing world, Jesse Switser, was 3 wide most of the race as he worked his way from the rear of the field. All points Switser earned throughout the evening went to Laflamme. At a few points during the feature the cars were 3 wide for 2-3 rows back. 2015 champion Scott Corey #02 has continued his weekly podium finish since the first race of the season as he came home victorious once again.
