QUINNEY WELCH - LATE MODEL WINNER
WHITE MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTS PARK
POWERED BY THE AUTOSAVER GROUP
HAS GREAT OPENING NIGHT
The Avery family was extremely pleased with their season opener at White Mountain Motorsports Park powered by the Autosaver Group this past Saturday night as a solid field of racecars, and plenty of fans enjoyed a hot night of racing even though there was a heavy chill in the air. Opening night winners included Quinney Welch, Justin Eldridge, Adam Sicard, Tom Smithers and Tyler Thompson.

2017 Foley Oil & Propane Late Model champion Quinney Welch started the season with a big win, but he certainly has some competition waiting for him next Saturday night. Stephen Donahue and Welch swapped the lead numerous times in the first 41 laps, and Stacy Cahoon was right on the pairs heels when on lap 43, Cahoon got into Donahue sending him around and ending his night. Cahoon was sent to the rear for the infraction while Donahue ended up in the pits with mechanical problems. On the restart Welch drove away for the win, leaving Jerry Lesage, Scott Corey, Paul Newcomb and Oren Remick to complete the top five.

The Wells River Chevrolet Tigers went green to checkers and Justin Eldridge scored an impressive victory in the opener. Steve Heitz, Kaleb Rogers, rookie driver Christian Laflamme and Michael Potter rounded out the top five.

The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini's also raced green to checkers in their 20 lap main event as Adam Sicard used a lapped car as a pick and took the lead from Colby Bourgeois late in the race and carried the first checkered flag of the season. Jon Knight also battled by Bourgeois to claim second. Keri Sicard raced home 4th and Brett "Action" Jackson took the 5th spot.

Tyler Thompson dusted the field in the Dad's 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Truck division as he defeated Luke Peters, Owen Boucher, Owen Rogers, Jillian Baumgardner and Ryan Bevins.

Tommy Smithers did a masterful job holding off 2017 champion "Downtown" Bobby Brown and claimed the top spot in the Bank of New Hampshire Dwarf Cars, Jason Wyman, Andy Hill and Jeff Ainsworth placed 3rd through fifth.

Racing resumes next Saturday night at 6pm, with four divisions of racing including Late Models, Tigers, Strictly Mini's and Kids Trucks. The Dwarf Cars have the night off.

White Mountain Motorsports Park powered by the Autosaver Group is located just three miles south of North Woodstock on Route 3. For more information call the Track hotline at 603-745-6727.
